Elopement Glencoe Lochan

A ceremony in a special place in Scotland, Glen Coe.

Becca & Callum had their perfect day , their way, with a ceremony led by The Scottish Celebrant on the banks of the Glencoe Lochan, but let’s back up a bit- why was I there?

The elopement was all planned very quickly, and while they knew they wanted to have a big party later with all their favourite people - they wanted the wedding ceremony to be just about the two of them with no fuss. They had their friends as witnesses and in the role of best man and bridesmaid - and that’s where I come in as best friend and bridesmaid Caitlin had already met and booked in with me and I was due to photograph her wedding a few months later! She knew Becca and Callum would also like my relaxed style and I was so happy to be on board!

Best friends

The morning started with everyone getting ready in a cabin at Glencoe Woodlands, then the boys went ahead to meet the Paul the celebrant up at the lochan. They’d picked up gorgeous flowers from Tomnaha at Comrie Croft. Callum couldn’t wear his buttonhole flowers with a Jacobite shirt it worked well as bride Becca could have those ones in her hair instead.

I loved the bouquets that Charli at Tomnah’a made, like bundles of wildflowers in a meadow - but in reality lovingly grown and exquisitely arranged.

Callum’s kilt was his own from House of Tartan kiltmakers and the best man’s was hired from JH Kilt hire.

Stealing the show was of course Gus the golden retriever…

The ceremony led by “The Scottish Celebrant” Paul was joyous and hilarious and completely personalised to them, besides their two witnesses it was just Paul and I there and it really does feel like such a privelage. Gus had his head turned by a beautiful golden retriever mid ceremony and also took a dip, and the rain fell gently on the mirrored surface of the lochan as ducks and ducklings swam by.

With the ceremony over, and the rain now a little more than gentle, we took a slow wander back down the hill before jumping in the cars and heading to Glen Coe for a little photo op.

And with the rain-filled wind howling down the epic Scottish glen, the gang gathered for an epic group photograph.

The Epic Moment

It’s a very lucky job I have to be present for these events. It was brilliant to see these gorgeous humans again and catch up , at bridesmaid Caitlin’s wedding day, a few months later.
